Consultation Groups
The Secretariat liaises with other Government agencies, businesses, consumer, welfare, and private organisations, special interest groups, and individuals to provide IPART with advice.
As well as receiving a wide range of information from the Government agencies whose monopoly services are subject to review or price determination by IPART, the Secretariat receives substantial input from various Government agencies whose operations or policy areas impinge on the business activities of those agencies.
A number of consultative groups have been formed to improve IPART's awareness of the views of interested parties and to provide forums for discussion developments in regulated markets. These include:
Energy Industry Consultation Group
IPART has convened groups of service providers, users and prospective users to consult on matters relating to energy pricing and licensing issues. Current members are representatives of all the NSW DNSPs, NSW standard electricity retailers, NSW standard gas retailers, NSW gas networks and PIAC. Second-tier retailers are represented by the National Retailers Forum, EWON, MoEU, NSW Treasury and several large energy users.
