Fees

Under the Gas Supply Act 1996, annual gas authorisation and licence fees are determined on the basis of the Government's costs of regulating the NSW gas industry in that financial year. Fees for 2007-08 were as follows:

Reticulator Authorisation

Fixed fee of $1,000 plus a variable fee based on each reticulator's share of the total pipeline length in NSW. Only those reticulators with more than 250 km of pipelines are charged the variable component. Total reticulators' fees in 2007-08 were $852,000.

Supplier Authorisation

Fixed fee of $500 plus a variable fee based on market share. Total Suppliers' fees in 2007-08 were $887,100.

Distributor Licence

$200 fixed fee only. Total distributors' fees in 2007-08 were $1,000.

All fees are GST exempt.
