Pricing for bulk water services

IPART determines the maximum price that State Water and the Water Administration Ministerial Corporation (administered by the Department of Water and Energy) may levy for services related to bulk water services including water resource management. These services are provided to farmers, irrigators, industrial users and town water suppliers, Sydney Catchment Authority and Hunter Water. Maximum prices for these services are currently set until 30 June 2010.

	Review of Prices for Water Administration Ministerial Corporation from 1 July 2010

	On 27 August 2009, IPART made the decision to 'stop the clock' on its investigation into the prices of the Water Administration Ministerial Corporation (WAMC) can charge bulk water users for its water management services. IPART will 'reset the clock' and the review will continue once it has received a submission from the Department. The submission is expected on 1 December 2009. As a result of this decision, new prices will not be able to be determined in time to commence 1 July 2010. Rather, existing prices will continue until the new determination takes effect.

	Review of Bulk Water Prices to be charged by State Water Corporation from 1 July 2010

	IPART invites submissions from interested parties to assist it review bulk water prices for State Water for the period commencing 1 July 2010. A submission from State Water is required by 11 September 2009. Submissions from stakeholders and other interested parties are due by 23 October 2009.
