In accordance with the NSW Rail Access Undertaking, the Tribunal is conducting a review of the rate of return and the Remaining Mine Life to apply to the Hunter Valley Coal Network from 1 July 2009.

The closing dates for submissions is Friday 19 June 2009.
IPART's final report and decision is expected to be released in July 2009.
Metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses:
IPART has now released its report and determination on fares for Sydney metropolitan buses (including Sydney Buses and private operators) and outer-metropolitan buses (Newcastle, the Blue Mountains, Wollongong, the Central Coast and the Hunter). Rural and regional buses:
IPART recommends increases to maximum fares for rural and regional buses to the Minister for Transport under an arrangement (terms of reference) approved by the Premier. IPART is required to make its recommendations on fares for these services by 19 December 2008.
IPART will recommend fare increases for private ferries to the Minister for Transport under an arrangement approved by the Premier.
To commence the review process, IPART has requested a fare proposal from the Commercial Vessel Association for private ferries.
Once we have received the fare proposal it will be posted on the website and IPART will publish a fact sheet explaining the fare proposals and the review process in more detail.
IPART will seek submissions to inform its decisions. The due date for submissions will be published on the website shortly and in relevant newspapers.
IPART reviews taxi fares annually under a five year standing reference received from the Premier and makes recommendations on fares to the Minister for Transport.
IPART has now commenced its 2008 fare review. As part of the review, IPART will re-consider a number of aspects of its approach using information from a recent survey of the industry commissioned by the Ministry of Transport.
IPART has completed its review of CityRail fares for 2009-2012 and CityRail’s economic regulatory framework. On 16 December 2008, IPART released its determination of CityRail fares and its recommendations to the Government on improving CityRail’s governance arrangements. The new fares took effect from 4 January 2009 and the determination and report explain how they will increase over the remaining three years to 2012.
