Taxi Fares

IPART recommends maximum fares for taxis in New South Wales under Section 9 of the IPART Act. IPART will start its next fare review in early 2010, for fare changes in July 2010. The Director General of NSW Transport and Infrastructure will determine the fares that will apply after considering IPART's recommendations.

Current maximum fares for taxi services in NSW are available from NSW Transport and Infrastructure.

As part of IPART's 2009 review it decided to undertake mid-year review of LPG prices and to recommend a mid-year fare change if fuel prices have changed significantly over the six months to 31 October. This review will be undertaken in November this year - further information will be available shortly.
