Water Pricing
IPART sets the maximum prices that can be charged for Metropolitan Water Supply,
Wastewater and Stormwater services.
-
Maximum prices for these services are currently set for Sydney Water and Hunter
Water until 30th June 2009.
- Maximum prices have been determined for Gosford
Council and Wyong Council until 30 June 2009.
-
Prices for the Bulk Water supplied by the Sydney Catchment Authority are also
regulated and are currently set until 30th June 2009.
IPART regulates the charges that State Water and the Department of Natural
Resources may levy for services related to the delivery of Bulk Water and water
resource management. These services are provided to farmers, irrigators,
industrial users and town water suppliers, Sydney Catchment Authority and
Hunter Water. IPART's role is to set the maximum prices that State Water and
the Department of Natural Resources can charge for these services.
When determining prices, IPART considers matters including:
-
the costs of service provision
-
consumer protection
-
demand management
-
service levels
-
environment protection
