IPART 2022 Conference

We are excited to announce our 2022 conference, which will be held on 17 November in Sydney and marks 30 years since IPART was first established.

Econveyancing transactions

We are seeking feedback on our issues paper on a pricing regulatory framework for interoperable electronic conveyancing transactions between Electronic Lodgment Network Operators (ELNOs).

This would include provisions on the fees they may charge other ELNOs for participating in an interoperable transaction.

Taxi and rideshare use 2022

Our annual point to point transport survey shows that use of taxis and rideshare in Sydney has started to bounce back from COVID-19, although it remains lower than pre-COVID usage.

We also asked people about their perceptions of different forms of point to point transport.

Levelling the playing field between businesses

We are calling for public submissions on our review of competitive neutrality policies and processes in NSW.

Competitive neutrality applies to state and local government owned businesses and aims to ensure that they do not have a competitive advantage over other businesses simply because they are government owned.

NSW councils increase rates

We have approved applications by 86 NSW councils to increase their rates above the level of the annual rate peg.

The modest increases are between 1.6% and 2.5% and were approved following an additional special variation process.

Higher solar feed-in tariffs

We have forecast higher solar feed-in tariffs for NSW customers in 2022-23.

Customers can expect to receive 6.2 to 10.4 c/kWh from their electricity retailer for the solar exports they feed into the grid.

Broken Hill water prices

We are seeking feedback on our draft decisions on the prices Essential Water can charge for water and wastewater services in Broken Hill and the surrounding areas of Menindee, Sunset Strip and Silverton.

Under IPART’s draft decisions, prices for water and wastewater services would remain stable for most customers, before inflation.

How we regulate the water businesses

We are reviewing how we regulate several NSW ‘monopoly’ water businesses.

Our draft report will help enable these water businesses to deliver better value for money to their customers and address key challenges like climate change and a growing population.
