This Draft Report makes 49 draft recommendations aimed at addressing inefficient, unnecessary or excessive burdens placed on councils by the NSW Government in relation to reporting, planning or compliance.

We invite submissions on these draft recommendations and any other issues discussed in our draft report, including in the appendices, by 19 February 2016.

We will hold a public hearing on 8 February 2016 at Sydney Masonic Centre, 66 Goulburn St, Sydney.

As part of this review we are seeking to identify inefficient, unnecessary or excessive planning, reporting and compliance obligations imposed on councils by the NSW Government; and to develop options to reduce or streamline these burdens. This Issues Paper provides further information about the review and the issues on which we are seeking submissions from interested stakeholders.
