Under our draft maximum prices, bills for typical household customers (using 170kL per year) receiving water and wastewater services would increase on average by $176 or 11.9% including estimated inflation by 2026-27 to $1,659, then by inflation only for the next 4 years. This is slightly higher than the increases Central Coast Council proposed, which would see typical bills increase, on average, by $162 or 11.0% including estimated inflation by 2026-27 to $1,645, then by inflation only for the next 4 years.

In reaching our draft decisions, we considered expert advice from Arup/HoustonKemp on Central Coast Council’s efficient capital and operating expenditure in delivering water and wastewater services. We also considered all feedback we received from stakeholders and our legislative responsibilities.

Our draft decisions aim to balance customer affordability with the need to protect services by providing Central Coast Council with adequate funding to meet its regulatory obligations and deliver customer outcomes in relation to water and wastewater services.

We thank all stakeholders for their input

We sought feedback on our draft decisions and recommendations between 24 March and 1 May 2026. We thank all stakeholders for their input during this period. We will consider all submissions and survey responses before preparing and releasing our Final Report on Central Coast Council prices for water, wastewater and related services from 1 July 2026.
