IPART has published our solar feed-in tariff benchmark ranges for 2026-27 to help you understand whether retailers are offering reasonable feed-in tariffs for the energy you export to the grid. They are based on our estimate of the wholesale price of electricity at the times that solar electricity is exported to the grid.
For 2026-27, the all-day solar feed-in tariff benchmark is 3.4 to 6.5 c/kWh. You can find further information here.
We also publish time-of-day feed-in tariff benchmarks to guide consumers about the value of their solar exports at different times of the day. Our benchmarks for 2026-27 are shown in the table below.

| 8 pm to 10 am | 5.6 to 6.1 | 3.3 to 5.3 | |
IPART’s time-of-day benchmarks reflect the variation in wholesale electricity prices throughout the day, which are typically:
- Lower through the middle of the day (when solar energy meets a proportion of demand), and
- Higher in the late afternoon and nighttime (when solar energy meets little or none of this demand).
Retailers can offer different feed-in tariffs throughout the day in line with our benchmarks to reflect the variation in wholesale prices, however, they are not required to.
