IPART is considering limited changes to the procedural aspects of our guideline for scheme-specific reviews of wholesale water prices. We would like to hear from you.
Our 2017 review of wholesale prices for water and sewerage services for Sydney and Hunter Water established a mechanism for scheme-specific reviews in certain circumstances. We consider it would benefit all parties if there were some additional procedural requirements in the guidelines for undertaking scheme specific reviews. This includes timeliness of providing necessary information or providing for IPART to engage external experts if required.
Relevant stakeholders may include Sydney Water and Hunter Water, as well as third-party providers of water, wastewater or recycled water services who purchase wholesale services from Sydney Water or Hunter Water. These wholesale customers are licensed under the Water Industry Competition Act 2006 (WICA).
