We are reviewing Hunter Water’s operating licence
We are reviewing Hunter Water’s 2022-2027 operating licence before it expires on 30 June 2027. IPART is responsible for making recommendations to the Minister for Water about the terms and conditions in Hunter Water’s licence.
The licence sets the terms and conditions that Hunter Water must follow when providing water, wastewater and stormwater services to its customers across the Lower Hunter region. The licence requirements aim to protect customers, public health, the environment and service quality.
We want to know what you think about Hunter Water’s licence
Our review of the current licence aims to understand if the licence continues to work as intended. The review will also help us to understand if any changes are needed in response to issues that have emerged since the licence was granted.
We have prepared an issues paper that explores issues relevant to Hunter Water, its operating environment and the terms and conditions of its operating licence. Our issues paper poses 20 questions to help you prepare your response. Your responses will guide the direction of our review and help inform our recommendations to the Minister regarding what requirements Hunter Water should be subject to under its next licence.
