The Minister for Transport and Infrastructure has referred to IPART the task of determining appropriate maximum fares for classes of opal fares from 1 July 2016 - 30 June 2019.
IPART recommends maximum fares for regular private ferry services in New South Wales under Section 9 of the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal Act. IPART will release it findings at the end of 2016.
IPART recommends maximum fares for selected private ferry services in New South Wales under Section 9 of the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal Act. IPART also determines maximum fares for the Stockton ferry under Section 11 of this act.

The Minister for Transport and Infrastructure has referred to IPART the task of determining appropriate maximum fares for rural and regional bus services in NSW. IPART will release a Final Report and Determination at the end of 2017.
When people use public transport, they generate benefits for and impose costs on others. The main external benefit of a person taking public transport instead of driving is the avoided cost of congestion on roads.
