The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) is conducting a major review of public transport fares in Sydney and surrounding areas. This Methodology Paper focuses on how we are proposing to determine fares.
This paper provides a brief overview of our objectives in this review, gives some definitions andexplanations of key concepts, and explains our criteria for assessing the treatment of cost items and inflators in the index
The main purpose of this year’s annual review is to reweight the Taxi Cost Indices (TCIs) so that it resembles the structure of costs faced by the industry as closely as possible.
The determination sets out the formulae to be applied to determine the maximum fares for certain services supplied under the Sydney tickets and Newcastle tickets. The determination will apply from January 2014.
This Draft Report set out IPART’s draft decisions in setting maximum fares for Sydney Ferries services from January 2013. We welcome comments on the Draft Report. Submissions are due by 12 October 2012.
