The purpose of the Public Water Utility Audit Guideline is to provide a framework to help auditors and public water utilities to prepare and conduct operational audits of public water utilities efficiently and effectively.
In accordance with Section 31 of the Sydney Water Act, 1994 (NSW), the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal of New South Wales has completed the audit of Sydney Water’s compliance for 2014 -2015.
In accordance with Section 18B of the Hunter Water Act 1991 (NSW), IPART has completed the audit of Hunter Water’s compliance with the requirements of its 2012-2017 Operating Licence.
The Tribunal is required to report to the Minister by 31 October each year on licence compliance. The report is publicly released after being tabled in Parliament.
