IPART has published a submission to the Productivity Commission’s Issues Paper on National Water Reform (2017). These comments are provided in the context of IPART’s role and experience in regulating water utilities.
In accordance with Section 31 of the Sydney Water Act, 1994 (NSW), the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal of New South Wales has completed the audit of Sydney Water’s compliance with the requirements of its 2010-2015 Operating Licence.
IPART remains supportive of our Rule change proposal submitted in September 2012 for the reasons that we have previously articulated. We also support SCER's proposal to base network prices on an estimate of the long run marginal cost (LRMC).
