Improving early childhood education and care

We are reviewing the NSW early childhood education and care sector to suggest ways to improve affordability, accessibility, and consumer choice.

In April we released an Issues Paper and in August we'll publish our Interim Report. Throughout the review we’ll be engaging with the community and the sector to get feedback and input.

WaterNSW
WaterNSW's rural bulk water charges

We are seeking feedback before finalising our  annual review of WaterNSW’s regulated charges for bulk water services to apply from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024.

Our draft decision is to maintain the charges set under the 2021 Determination. This means that increases in charges will be limited to inflation of about 7% from 1 July 2023.

Sydney Desalination Plant water prices

We have released a draft report proposing to limit increases in desalinated water prices in Greater Sydney.

Under our draft decisions, prices for desalinated water would increase by 1.5% in 2023-24, making for an increase of around $2 per year in a typical Sydney Water customer’s bill.

These councils were either given an extension or amended their original application. A total of 17 councils have now applied to IPART for special variations.
