IPART monitors compliance with Employment Guarantees provided in Schedule 4 of the Electricity Network Assets (Authorised Transactions) Act 2015 No 5.
The Schedule provides a five year Employment Guarantee period lasting from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2020. It sets out provisions relating to minimum employee numbers and some conditions of employment such as restrictions on changes to workplace locations and, for continuing employees, protections for current employment conditions.
The Employment Guarantees apply to Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy and TransGrid. These networks are required to report to us quarterly on their compliance. We also publish a fact sheet summarising their compliance.
Ausgrid recently undertook an independent audit of its compliance with some of its legislated employment guarantees obligations. The fact sheet below summarises the scope and findings of this audit:
