 In 2018-19, we are reviewing prices for water and sewerage services for Essential Energy customers in and around Broken Hill.

Setting prices in Broken Hill 2019 review guide

1. Prices for bulk water

In 2016-17, we set WaterNSW’s bulk water prices for four years from 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2021.

WaterNSW proposes that these prices apply to the bulk water transported by the Murray River to Broken Hill pipeline (pipeline) from 1 July 2019.

2. Prices for the WaterNSW Murray River to Broken Hill pipeline

In 2018-19, we are setting prices for the transportation services provided by the pipeline to apply from 1 July 2019.

The pipeline will deliver services to Essential Energy and offtake customers along the route of the pipeline.

This review will assess the efficient costs in constructing, operating and maintaining the pipeline.

3. Prices for Broken Hill water and sewerage

In 2018-19, we are reviewing prices for water and sewerage services for Essential Energy customers in and around Broken Hill.

In this review we will consider a range of factors including the affordability of the prices we set for customers, the efficient costs of providing services, and other potential impacts on customers and the broader community.

The efficient costs of providing services reflect the costs for Essential Energy to operate and maintain its existing water network, and the prices that Essential Energy pays for bulk water (1) and pipeline (2) services.
