Under section 116B(1) of the National Energy Retail Law (NSW), IPART may recommend to the Minister for Energy, one or more methodologies to determine the maximum price for electricity, gas, hot water and centralised air-conditioning (embedded network commodities) supplied through an embedded network.

If approved, IPART must then determine, in accordance with the approved methodology the maximum price for each embedded network commodity at least once every 12 months or as directed by the Minister.

This draft methodology presents how IPART proposes to determine the maximum price for each embedded network commodity supplied to residential embedded network customers in NSW.

This version of this instrument is a consultation draft which IPART has not yet recommended, and the Minister has not yet considered. We are seeking your feedback on select components of the draft methodology.

Please see the Consultation Paper for further information.
