The operator licence is granted under the Water Industry Competition Act 2006 (WIC Act), as varied on 17 July 2025.
Under this licence Aquacell Pty Ltd is authorised to construct and operate water industry infrastructure:
- For up to 10 schemes
- To collect and treat sewage for disposal and the disposal of the treated sewage up to 900kL/day per scheme.
- To collect and treat sewage for the production, supply and use of recycled water up to 900kL/day per scheme.
The retailer licence is granted under the WIC Act, as amended on 1 March 2024.
Under this licence Aquacell Pty Ltd is authorised to:
- Sell water and/or sewerage services
- Sell services to up to 249 customer premises per scheme.
The licences are subject to conditions set in the WIC Act, the Water Industry Competition (General) Regulation 2024 and the licences.
