The Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) covers an area of approximately 20,000 square kilometres, centred by Dubbo and Dunedoo, on the land of the Wiradjuri, Wailwan and Kamilaroi people.

The REZ is intended to facilitate, through the construction of new transmission infrastructure, the connection of new renewable generation to the NSW electricity grid.

ACEREZ Partnership is a consortium of three separate organisations, Acciona Concesiones, Cobra, and Endeavour Energy and they have submitted an application to the Minister for Energy for a transmission operator’s licence. This licence, if granted, will set conditions by which ACEREZ Partnership may operate the transmission assets that connect the Central West Orana renewable energy zone to the NSW electricity grid.

Public consultation on ACEREZ Partnership’s application for a transmission operator’s licence, draft report and licence conditions has now closed. We received four submissions from stakeholders and we are now preparing our final recommendations for the Minister.
