Section 91 of the NSW Forestry Act 2012 (the Act) requires the Forestry Corporation of NSW (Forestry Corporation) to review, benchmark and report on its native timber harvesting and haulage costs every three years. IPART must then review this benchmarking report and make recommendations to Forestry Corporation to assist in reducing these costs.
The current review considers harvesting and haulage costs incurred between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2019. We are interested in hearing from industry stakeholders to inform the review.
Our Final Report will be provided to Forestry Corporation’s shareholding Ministers in May 2021.
