We have released our Draft Report and Draft Licence for consultation.
The Minister must impose conditions for ensuring that a network operator maintains a substantial operational presence in Australia. The current licensed network operators are Transgrid, Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, Essential Energy and ACEREZ.
We have engaged CyberCX to assist with our review of the critical infrastructure licence conditions and taken account of advice from the relevant Commonwealth agency, the Cyber and Infrastructure Security Centre.
We have made recommendations to ensure network operators continue to have a substantial presence in Australia and implement appropriate controls to ensure the security of their networks. These protections and requirements are important since electricity networks are an essential service for the people of NSW.
