IPART is seeking feedback on its draft decisions on the prices that WaterNSW can charge customers for water transportation services provided by the Murray River to Broken Hill Pipeline.

IPART is also seeking feedback on its draft decisions on the prices Essential Water can charge customers for water services in Broken Hill and surrounding areas.

Our draft prices aim to minimise customer bill impacts while still providing WaterNSW with enough funding to maintain good quality Pipeline services.

Under our draft decisions for the next 4 years, bills would decrease for Essential Water and offtake customers, before inflation.

To set these draft prices, we considered ongoing and financing costs, the number of customers who will share these costs and the amount of water the Pipeline would need to transport for its customers over the next 4 years.

IPART encourages customers and the community to make submissions on the Draft Report by 9 September 2022 and partake in our public hearing on 6 September 2022. The Draft Report, Draft Determination, and registration for the public hearing are available below.
