IPART has started its 2024-25 monitoring reports on the NSW retail electricity and gas markets.
Each year, we monitor and report on matters including competitive dynamics and the participation of households and small businesses in the NSW retail energy markets.
This year, we will also report on new energy products and services, including virtual power plants and demand response programs.
We will continue to report on annual bills across the range of retail electricity pricing structures including flat rate, time of use and demand tariffs.
We are seeking submissions to our Consultation Paper
We want to hear views from a range of stakeholders including households, small businesses, consumer groups, industry associations, retailers and distribution networks on:
- our approach to energy market monitoring
- the experience of consumers who are using new energy products and services, including virtual power plants and demand response programs, and whether they have sufficient information to make decisions about these services
- whether there are emerging issues we should explore in our Energy Market Monitoring Reports.
We are seeking stakeholder submissions to our Consultation Paper until 22 August 2025.
